Synthesis, structure and gas adsorption properties of coordination polymers based on mixed imidazole-containing ligands and carboxylate ligands

Herein, we report the synthesis of two novel coordination polymers using a combination imidazole-containing ligands, namely 1,3,5-tris((1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl)benzene (L1) and 3,3?,5,5?-tetra(1H-imidazol-1-yl)-1,1?-biphenyl (L2) carboxylate ligand derived from 4,4?-biphenyldicarboxylic acid (H2BPDC). The structures [Ni(L1)(BPDC)]·2H2O (1·2H2O), which exhibits 2-fold interpenetrated 3D ? architecture, {[Co(CH3OH)2(L2)0.5(BPDC)] (2) possessing 2D framework, have been determined. Moreover, gas adsorption properties 1 2 investigated.
